The Bulldog was chosen as one of Huffpo’s best beer bars. I know, I know, Huffpo, who reads that (not me, I saw the link elsewhere) but still. Glad to see The Bulldog is getting the recognition it deserves!
To help customers keep track of the 50 beers on tap at this Garden District tavern, bartenders provide frequent drinkers with punch cards. Those who try all 50 (over the course of multiple visits) get their name on the bar’s “plaque of adventurers.” Louisiana draughts are well-represented on the list, with offerings like Tin Roof’s citrusy Perfect Tin and NOLA Brewing’s Hopitoulas, a West Coast—style IPA. The outdoor patio features a beer tap water fountain made out of taps collected from breweries across the country.

On the way to PT.
Old plantation turned restaurant. One of the loveliest patio bars ever.

The Daily Crow
So every day for the last week or so this crow shows up in my yard at around 4pm and squawks up a ruckus.
I’m sure it’s the same bird every time, and I have no idea why he or she has decided to sound-off at my place.
It’s very weird.

The inside of the New Orleans Office of Civil Defense’s bomb shelter. The shelter was built at the end of West End Blvd during the 1950s and fortunately never really used. Backstory here. Recently, a couple of people explored the bomb shelter and took some videos. You can find them here and here, though I’ll likely embed them later today.

How Nat Turner went from New York to New Orleans in 2008 and became an urban farmer in the lower 9th. Now the farm grows “enough produce to sell to 10 local restaurants and the New Orleans Food Co-op.” Wow!

New Orleans friends please help us! Christopher Stoudt’s (guitarist/singer for both Jonesbirds and Bunny Matthews and the Playboys) seafoam green Dean Palamino guitar and Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 amp were stolen out of his car (parked on Desire St. in the Bywater) on Friday night after Bunny and the Playboys played at the Pizza Delicious fundraiser at Siberia. The guitar is so unique that if enough people know to keep an eye out for it at venues, pawn shops, and online, we can catch those goddamn crooks if they try to sell it anywhere. Please reblog and tweet me at @sozmonsta or email me at gm@wtulneworleans.com if you see it anywhere. Two bands and a lot of hearts could really use your help.
